The Masat-1 ground station is still buzzing; there is no time to rest.

Lately, fresher and junior student circles started visiting the ground station. During their visit, they get an insight to the operation of the station and also to the development process of the satellite.

Masat-1 spends 25 minutes in eclipse during an orbit. This means a decrease of the eclipse period, leading to the increase of the internal average temperature.

Models of the satellite and the ground station were entered to the AGI STK9 SW. Orbit parameters are calculated according to the corresponding TLE. As the rotation of the satellite was also entered into the simulation (Masat-1 follows the Earth’s magnetic field), it is possible to determine when to take photos and what the reception parameters are going to be at any given time. From the obtained reception parameters it can be determined which passes are suitable for data downlink.
